Boston, Massachusetts Youth Center Project

The goal of this project was to take the information found in the Lunana, Bhutan Youth Center Project and apply it to an urban design for Boston. A site not too far from Wenworth was chosen and the task was to design the youth center as an in-fill building between two historical brewery builds behind a field. This project focused a lot on materiality and structural systems.

STEM Center Gif.gif

For this project I put a lot of focus into the interior layout and structure of the youth center. I dove deep into how each space might be used during daily activities. These decisions were based on my personal experience as a STEM summer camp teacher. I found it fitting and effective to create an animation walking the viewer through my space while displaying some of the activities and people that would inhabit it.
